It is also believed that Devon’s have a higher body temperature than other cats, but there bodies feel like they are emitting excess amounts of heat simply because there isn’t as much hair covering their skin.

An adult Devon Rex can appear almost hairless in some spots due to the thinness of the hair. As kittens mature into adulthood, they loose their kitten fur and at times, may become bald in some spots as the adult hair develops.

The grooming regiment for the Devon Rex is quite a simple one. With its coat being so very thin, a quick petting with a grooming glove once a month to remove loose hair and dander is all that is needed. Baths are not recommended for this breed as their coats are so thin, they can easily catch a chill. If you wish to clean your Devon Rex, a simple wipe down with a damp cloth once a month is the easiest and less strenuous method for your cat.
