Cocker Spaniels do not require a high amount of exercise and can live comfortably in an apartment or town home. They will need to be exercised daily and they love to play fetch. The Cocker Spaniel does require regular brushing if you want to keep its beautiful coat. Most people clip their coats short since keeping them long requires brushing it at least three times a week. You will also need to keep its ears clean to make sure that no infections are spread there. Be sure that your Cocker Spaniel does not gain too much weight since they love to eat. The Cocker Spaniel often suffers from obesity and can also suffer from hip dysplasia, bad knees, epilepsy, eye and heart problems and allergies.
