Horse Riding Apparel Selection and Buying Guide
You are going to need to get the right horse riding apparel before you get on your first horse. The right horse apparel will ensure that you have a comfortable ride as well as give you all the safety you will need while riding atop a huge animal like your horse! No matter whether you are an English style rider or a Western style rider, you will definitely need some boots. You will need to be wearing boots around your horse even if you are just grooming him. Mainly, the reason for this is the safety of your feet. If the horse accidentally steps on your toes, you will want some protection there. Cowboy boots can be comfortable to walk around in, while English riding boots can be more stiff. If you just have those, you might want to get a pair of boots to walk around in the stable with. There are few people who enjoy wearing riding helmets. They aren’t the best looking accessory out there. However, they are absolutely necessary if you are riding a horse. If you are thrown, you will need better protection than a mere cowboy hat for your head. When you are competing in events, you can’t just wear whatever you want into the ring. You can wear any dark color you want in breeches or jacket, but you might want to see which dark colors are in style at the moment. You will want to make sure you look like everyone else out there so you don’t stand out for all the wrong reasons. If you are doing dressage events, you will need formal dress.
